For one night only, on Friday, December 4th, slow down, shun the holiday rush, and come back to a time when shopping was as much a part of the festivities as opening gifts. Begin a holiday tradition leisurely shopping and dining in Boston’s historic, Italian North End (
map) at the 3rd Annual Buon Natale Holiday Stroll. From 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. participating North End boutiques, galleries, and studios are offering significant sales and discounts for Stroll shoppers only.
Plan a romantic evening with your sweetheart or a festive night out with friends enjoying the sights and sounds of the season. Santa will make an appearance at The Fairmont Battery Wharf Hotel which is offering a special room rate for Holiday Strollers who want to stay in Boston for the evening. Validated parking for the Parcel 7 Garage also will be available at selected locations.
Sample light refreshments along the Stroll from the North End’s highly rated restaurants or make early dinner reservations so you don’t miss any of the Buon Natale shops. With 24 participating retailers on the map, Holiday Strollers, especially the cost conscious, will be able to find unique gifts for all those special someones.
“Buon Natale is a celebration in itself,” said BethAnn Hoyos of the North End Retail Group. “Holiday shopping should be a joy, not another item on the ‘To Do’ list. Our annual Stroll gives shoppers the opportunity to enjoy the holiday hospitality of the North End while taking advantage of one night only discounts at a wide variety of local businesses, many of them designated the Best of Boston.”
For the man who has everything, look into shaving products at A Matter of FACE or perhaps an original piece of art from the North End Gallery. Treat yourself, holiday hostess, by ordering Open House invitations from Lettering by Liz Calligraphy. Discover that perfect bottle of New Year’s bubbly for the two of you while wine tasting at The Wine Bottega. Find that vintage or modern dress for a holiday to remember at The Velvet Fly. You might get your hands on a replica of Miley Cyrus’s earrings at Filthy Rich Celebrity Jewelry or a hand-crafted blank journal from the North Bennet Street School Gallery for your favorite tweens and teens.
And one lucky Stroll shopper will take home a gift valued at $1,000.00. A holiday basket brimming with gift certificates and products from The Stroll’s diverse group of small businesses will be raffled at the end of the evening. To enter, be sure to pick up a Stroll Passport card and a map at your first stop. After you have visited all the shops and had your Passport stamped (no purchase necessary), just return your completed Passport to any of the participating retailers before the end of the night. The Buon Natale gift basket will be on display at the North Bennet Street School Gallery on the night of The Stroll.
